We're rolling in Museum Park - Bikeways!

New and improved bikeways are coming to Museum Park and Midtown! Harris Co. Pct. 1 Commissioner Rodney Ellis challenged the Houston Planning Dept. and they, along with Public Works rose to the opportunity. They're all super stars! After extensive planning and ongoing and very helpful public engagement, construction starts soon. The Museum Park Livable Center Study and the miles of bikeways described in the Houston Bike Plan are becoming reality. Many thanks to Commissioner Ellis, Houston Planning, Public Works, and all of you who engaged in the process to find best routes.

The Austin Corridor is a central component of the planned regional bikeway network, connecting Buffalo Bayou to Brays Bayou through Downtown, Midtown, and Museum Park using new on-street bikeways and existing trails in Hermann Park. The Austin Corridor links jobs, schools, parks and other central city destinations with each other and with the upcoming networks in Near Northside and Third Ward. This corridor also helps define the Culture Trail, a primary goal of the Museum Park Super Neighborhood Livable Center Study.
